My deck in winter

The picture above is my deck with snow after the two recently snow storms in Washington D.C.

This blog has readers from all over the United States (in fact, the whole world).  When I write about a topic that is season specific, I realize that it may not be relevant to many readers.  That is often the case when I write about topics such as the end of the cycling season or winter training.  However, this winter, most of the United States has snow.  Yahoo reported that “more than two-thirds of the nation’s land mass had snow on the ground when the day dawned yesterday, and then it snowed ever so slightly in Florida to make it 49 states out of 50″.  So nearly all of us in the United States are sharing the common experience of a hard winter.    I had picked up an old bicycle that I planned to restore this winter and use as an errand bicycle.  However I left it out on my deck and now it is under 3.5 feet of snow.  When I dig it out, I will feature the renovation on a future post.
