Tour Of Lombardy

By spokesman | October 18, 2008

Graham Watson Website with Giro Di Lombardia photos

The Tour Of Lombardy or Giro Di Lombardia took place today and was won by Damiano Cunego. You can watch the race on Versus TV on Sunday or at http://www.steephill.tv/.  You can also see excellent photos of the race at Graham Watson’s website by clicking on the image above.  The classic one day race marks the end of the cycling season for most professionals and always includes the climb to the Madonna Di Ghisallo - the church dedicated to cyclists.  The route also covers some beautiful scenery along the  shores of Lake Como.

I visited the area during a trip to Italy earlier this year and posted a video of the church.  I also plan to post a video of the adjacent cycling museum. (It is a winter project for me to edit).   Be sure to watch the race to see the route from the Madonna Di Ghisallo to Bellagio.  Visitors to the area can do the same ride.  I posted about Arco Sports in Bellagio, a sports store that rents bikes.
